Badger Realty LLC, announces the sale of the New England Inn and Tuckerman’s Restaurant and Tavern to the Merrill Family from Southern Maine. Shown here are Lance Merrill, David Cianciolo of Badger Realty, Jessica Merrill, Dianne Merrill, Larry Merrill, Todd Neil who remains a key member to the management team, and Dick Badger of Badger Realty.
The Hooper Family successfully operated this Lodging and Restaurant business, located on Route 16A in Intervale, for the past 13 years and on April 1, handed the keys over to the Merrill Family. Since 1995 the Hooper Family has maintained high standards of quality food and beverage service along with offering a variety of guest accommodations ranging from charming and traditional inn rooms to very high style private units with Jacuzzi tubs and gas log fireplaces. Many upgrades, additions, expansions, and innovative ideas in the full service operation were instituted during their ownership which has led to an excellent reputation to both visiting guests and local trade alike.
Having had their eye on The New England Inn for over a year’s time, the new owners are immensely excited to finally be here! The Merrill’s look forward to continuing the quality and service standards set in place by the Hooper Family and hope to take the Inn and restaurant to new heights, starting with a major renovation to the dining room.
The property is now under new ownership and introduces the Merrill family, hailing from Southern Maine. Larry Merrill is joined by his wife Dianne, and Lance Merrill, Larry’s son, is joined by his wife Jessica and two young children Madeleine and Avery. The Merrill Family brings a multitude of talents to the Inn and restaurant. Larry previously owned a contracting business with his oldest son. Dianne will be ending her 27 year career in dentistry to join the business. Together Larry and Dianne have executed several renovation projects and have owned and maintained multiple rental properties. Lance has over 15 years of restaurant experience and employs a mix of family oriented and corporate management styles that will help him excel as CEO. Jessica will offer her experience in marketing/advertising, book keeping, and technology; rounding out what the family feels is the perfect mix to maintain and improve the integrity and success of the Inn and restaurant. The Merrill’s also recognize the dedication and excellence of the existing staff and are forever grateful to have such a fabulous group of people already in place.
In only a short time the Merrill’s have begun to learn the loyalties of the local community and thank them for the warm welcome they continue to give. They will maintain a business that will keep its patrons coming back, and invite any feedback and ideas. It is you, the guests, that have made The New England Inn and Tuckerman’s the fabulous place it is today. The Merrill’s add “If it’s not broken, we won’t fix it. But rest assured, if it is broken… it will be fixed. Contact us at the New England Inn, 603-356-5541, or find us on the web at http://www.newenglandinn.com/. We look forward to hearing from you.”
